Your Adventure Wedding, a wedding planner, submitted two incredible weddings to us. It only made sense to put them together in a feature. The backdrop, the attire, the jumping over insane terrains, the hot dogs – well, you’ll see why we accepted both. Before each wedding, the planner will tell you about each couple. You can ooh and ahh with us over the epic landscapes and intimate details.
From the planner:
“Never have I heard a more exciting and serendipitous meeting and whirlwind love story than these two! Katie and Joe boarded a plane leaving Istanbul going to Dushanbe and were surprisingly seat mates. After several amazing moments talking through the overnight flight, they decided they needed to have an official “first date” upon landing. Both having a deep desire for adventure, outdoors, and hiking, they found themselves bonding while on a 4,000 feet hike up the Laylakul Pass. Then when Katie’s plans to go to Kyrgyzstan didn’t pan out, they met in Cappadocia and Joe surprised her with an all-day adventure and an unforgettable hot air balloon ride!
After countless adventures in the following years, they settled on having an incredible elopement in Iceland! So how were they going to top their daily lives and previous adventures with an elopement? Iceland was their answer. A 17-hour action packed wedding day was on the agenda full of a ceremony in front of an ice cave, amazing cliffs, endless mountain views, a hot dog BBQ on a private beach, a subglacial volcano, and waterfalls.”
From the planner:
“Luisa and Marek had explored Iceland before and after leaving each time, they remained in awe of the dynamic landscape and continued to daydream about it. When the question came up of where they saw themselves holding their romantic elopement, they knew Iceland. Most people think that having a summer wedding in Iceland will be guaranteed sunshine and warm temperatures. Whereas, the reality of the situation is that if holding an Iceland wedding in the South chances are great that it may rain, be windy, or overcast no matter the time of year. Luckily, Marek and Luisa knew this and embraced running around in, laughing, and playing in the rain! And they did it in style!”
