When Requiem Images sent us this incredible pizza engagement session, I couldn’t help but get SUPER stoked about this city engagement session turned pizza munchie extravaganza. Not only is she a super awesome photographer, but this couple clearly had fun with their engagement session and totally showed their personalities – especially after it got rescheduled multiple times. Here’s what Kat of Requiem Images had to say:
“We tried to schedule this shoot once and it was supposed to storm so we rescheduled.
Tried again and Mark ended up having to go to a reveal for some ashtray art he made for a gallery.
Try again. They don’t get off work until late, don’t get to eat, he had a couple of drinks and they arrive at my place 2 hours before sun sets.
I help them pick outfits.
His jacket had been in the car for weeks, and they realized on our way that it had been peed on by her cat.
We arrive and start shooting.
They laugh about the smell of the jacket.
We walk a few blocks, I take a street shot and while I’m checking the focus they cross the street and he sneaks into the pizza place behind my back.
She and I laugh, he comes out, they apologize and start eating because they hadn’t eaten all day.
ALL the eating shots were COMPLETELY candid.
He re-enters and gets more including one for me.
We walk back to the car so that we can end at the overlook.
He realizes something dripped onto his shirt while they were eating.
We actually encountered a man along the way who asked for some money to get something to eat. I offered him pizza. He mumbled. I asked again what he wanted and when he answered I again offered the pizza. He said he was, “Tired of pizza because he’d had it all week” and moved along.
We get to the car, go to the overlook, take a few shots and done.”
That, ladies and gentleman, is how you make engagement shots that are both incredibly beautiful – and absolutely you. Check it out.
