This was SUCH a super cool Sleepy Hollow wedding inspiration – and the photographer, Tara Nichole, tells the story of the shoot beautifully.
From the photographer:
This styled wedding was inspired by a love for Halloween by fellow coordinators Jessica Nielsen of J Lobbins Photography and Ashley Jones of Beginning and End Photo.
The movie tale of Ichabod Crane and Katrina varies slightly from the original, written by Washington Irving. Ichabod finds himself investigating a slew of mysterious murders, all including beheadings with the heads nowhere to be found. Katrina mourns the loss of her father by this mysterious killer and is comforted by her friend and a special trinket left by her mother. Katrina and Ichabod find themselves seeking solace in one another during a time of sorrow and terror, leading to love for one another. The mystery of the tale of the headless horseman ravages Katrina’s hometown while everyone is left in confusion as to who this mystery killer is. The viewer is left to decide if Katrina’s friend is simply under the spell of the Horseman or rather in control of it all. Amidst the terror, Ichabod and Katrina wed in a solemn and intimate ceremony, their fates yet to be decided.
Bloom and Blueprint went all out with the fall decor, showing how a fall wedding can be dark and beautiful while not gimmicky. Their woods-inspired ceremony arch was adorned with complimenting florals and twisted wood and Katrina’s bouquet was reminiscent of the abundance of a fall harvest. The Chateau de Vie was the perfect backdrop for a more gothic look while still being incredibly elegant and inspiring. sift Bakehouse created a custom, hand painted cake inspired by a mood board image of a fall sunset and candy apples that looked simply sinful. Fancy Lou table designs and Vintage Chic Rentals created a reception and dessert table that took classy and dark to a whole new level of elegance with an incredible spread of Fall goodies by Bloom and Blueprint.
A Couple of Bartenders added a fun little creepy flair to Ichabod’s cocktails, complete with some of those missing heads. And Ichabod looked as sleek as can be in an all black tux and pre-wedding suit by Celebrity Tux and Tails. They Call Me Spindles hand crafted a custom banner with a portion of the original Sleepy Hollow tale and Ink + Sable killed (no pun intended) it with a hand drawn likeness of the Chateau de Vie on an invitation suite. An incredible black gown and over-the-top dramatic lashes and hair for Katrina by Allison with The Beauty Bar topped off the whole look of this shoot.
